Vincent Zompa Class 3 Augoust 4, 2015 GEORGE BLAKE CLAIM Who are you and what you do want from my family? I was walking on air. You arrive and light displaced, Now we here miserable, Pretending be a star. Why do we follow everyone? We pursue someone else‘s ideas, And only keep an eye on our dreams. We abandon our identity to become admitted. Where have been accepted? In a parallel world, Where every player is individual. We are a team, And we are supposed to act like one. A team that has a leader who everyone follow, We became the same person, Wearing a suit without what it represents, Without knowing its origin. |

The Past
The poem “The Past” by Ha Jin express the different ways that people can see their past. The author describes how the past change people, depending in people attitude. Some people live thinking in the past and they became another person, because they cannot forgive and learn about the wrong decisions. However some people always are thinking about how successful they were and they cannot move on to make a much better future.
The poem can be related to my life. Few months ago I was in relationship, when I broke up I felt terrible and I got depression. All the good things that I was done became a bad experience because everything remember me my past. After weeks my friends got mad at me because they said that I was changing my life style just to not remember my past relationship. Then I understood that I can make a bad experience in a good lesson. With my experience I learned to control my emotion and to not trust too much in people around me. Now I continue with my normal life with family and friends, always trying to do my best. How in the poem said, “Like a shroud my past surround me, but I will cut it and stitch it, to make good shoes with it, shoes that fit my feet.” You decide what you want to do with your future. If you want to move on, you need to learn and continue. Always making better things to get a better future or, a big positive change in life.
