In the past exist shocking statistics about students who attend college and dropout before they receive the college degree. To help these students the government creates a program to provid4e more support. For example the CUNY’s Accelerated Study in Associate Program (ASAP) began in fall 2007 and continues helping students in the community college. Some of the benefits the ASAP program offers to students is the students have priority registration, tuition waivers, free metro card and dedicated advisement. The requirements are students need to be a New York resident and eligible for in-state tuition, enter into a full time associate program and have no more than two developmental course needs and 15 credits or less and minimum 2.0 GPA for semester.
